I have a new favorite thing, Soda Stream. I'm not kidding, this thing is fantastic! My husband does too, he was like a kid on Christmas morning when it arrived.
You can easily make a liter of soda in less than 3 minutes. I was sent a Soda Stream, the Genesis model and tons of soda syrups to sample. Some are in the picture below, but there was also 12 sample sizes sent to me. Each sample size makes 1 liter.
What I liked the most about Soda Stream is you don't need batteries or electricity are to make it work. This makes it perfect for use anywhere you need it. You don't have to worry about plugging it in on the kitchen counter or table. You can use it where it's most convenient for you.
It arrives in 2 pieces and goes together easily. Just
insert the CO2 canister before putting it together. That's it, it's
ready to use. No more lugging bottles or cans of soda from the store.
It also lightens your recycling bin.
I know what you want! You want to know if the sodas taste good. Yes, it taste just like the soda you buy in the store. There are few differences though, There are less calories and less sugar in Soda Stream sodas.Plus, the soda flavors don't have any high-fructose corn syrup in the regular flavors, and no aspartame in the diet flavors. Sparkling Naturals contain no artificial flavors, no artificial colors, no artificial sweeteners, and do not contain any preservatives.
Each sodamix is enough to make 12 liters of drink, each sparkling naturals contains enough syrup to make 6 liters of drink, each bottle of MyWater Flavor Essence will flavor about 20 liters of water, you only need half a teaspoon for each liter you make of this! Mixer bottles start around $4.99 and go up to $9.99, depending on the size of the bottle.
The CO2 bottle will make 60 liters of soda when you use the recommended 3 buzzes per bottle, I like the amount of fizz 6 buzzes makes, so mine will last for 30 liters. You don't have to have to buy a new one each time. Sodastream gives you the option of taking the empty canisters to a local Soda Stream dealer and trading it in. For a cost of course, but less than than you would pay to buy a new one. I would recommend going to Bed Bath & Beyond and taking advantage of those 20% off coupons they offer in the Sunday paper. BB&B will accept one coupon for each item you purchase and they accept their store coupons even if they are expired. That's where I'll be pick up my supplies!
1. Fill bottle with water.
2. Screw the bottle onto the machine and push the button on top until you hear a buzz to carbonate. 3 buzzes produce standard fizz. I like the fizz amount 6 buzzes creates.
3. Unscrew the bottle and add your choice of syrup. I recommend using a funnel for this, it makes it a lot easier.
4. Gently mix in the syrup by putting a lid on the bottle and turning the bottle.... gently.
Here's a video I found to take you through the steps of making your soda or flavored carbonated water.
These are just a few comparisons listed.
