Hill's Science Diet Ideal Balance Cat Food
We have three cats, yes three. When asked if I would review Hill's Science Diet, I thought how can I do that? I can't taste or personally try the product. I have to go by if the cats ate the food or turned their noses up at it. If you have a cat you know you can't make them do (or eat) anything they don't want to.
I was hoping it would go over pretty well since the first ingredient on the label is chicken, not corn or grain and the second is rice. There are even vegetables and fruit listed on there too. I like it when an ingredient list was easy to read.
Left to right: Pixie, Jinx and Gizmo (aka Gizzy).
All three cats have different eating schedules and have their preferences of food. Jinx and Gizzy would be happy with just dry food. Pixie will tolerate dry food but starts crying for her wet food about 3:30pm everyday. She is the reason canned food is served, there would be no peace in the house if we stopped giving it to her. She's a diva.
They knew something was up when I put the food dish down. There's always dry food out for them and they never eat at the same time. All three instantly swarmed the food dish. I don't know if they could smell the difference, but they were onto me. Guess what they did, they instantly starting eating it! Even better, they happily ate the food until the bag was gone. Not in one serving of course. I was surprised they took to it so quickly. I thought at least one wouldn't eat it and I would have to give out some of their original food.
Your suppose to add new brand of food to the old brand and gradually decrease the old with the new over a weeks time. I didn't do that, I should have read the instructions. We didn't have any problems though (the tummy type).
