Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler

We do a lot of recycling here in Seattle. In the condo building we live in there are 4 dumpsters in the parking garage just for the recycling from our building. The dumpsters are always full by the time the trash truck arrives on Tuesday's to pick up.

I was using 2 heavy duty plastic tote bags with handles to place recycables in. Both bags were kept in the closet on the floor, which was a pain in the butt at times. If I needed anything that was stored on the floor in there, I would have to take the bags out to get to it. No more!

Rubbermaid Hidden Reycler makes getting your recycling together so much easier! It hangs on the inside of your kitchen cabinet. Now under our sink we have the Hidden Recycler on one side and our trash can on the other. I can still get to everything on that side of the sink because the Hidden Recycler swings out when I open the door. Honestly, I'm thinking about getting another one and using it as a trash can on the other door!

Here is a picture of my Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler hanging in my cabinet (picture to left). The bag hangs straight, it's the picture that is crooked. The recycler came with 2 hooks that fit easily over the cabinet, they have felt on the side that faces the door so you don't have to worry about scratches. It was was to assemble, the only parts are the two hooks, the bag, lid and handle. You can attach the Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler with screws if you want, however screws are not included. The bag slips on and off a bracket that's located on the lid, which is the part that's attached to the cabinet door.

The bag is heavy duty and a nice size, 5 gallons, it will hold 36 twelve ounce cans. Our gallon milk container fit, we crush ours to make more room but you don't have to. We have been stuffing this thing full, it's amazing how much it can hold. The bag has a leak proof liner that wipes clean easily. If you don't want to do that you can toss it in the washer! Just let it air dry when it's done. The bag is also soft sided, so if it does hit anything in your cabinet it's flexible.

When your ready to dump out your bag you just lift the lid and grab the handle, then dispose of the contents. You never have to touch your recycling once it's in the bag.

The Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler is 17 inches long at it's longest point, has a 13 inch width and has a depth of almost 7 inches. You will need about another inch for the length to hang it up.
