Livrada - A new way to buy an ebook!
If you wanted to get a book for someone who uses Kindle or Nook you had to purchase an Amazon or Barnes & Noble gift card. Not anymore. Starting July 15, 2012, you can pick a specific book out at Target stores for someone and it doesn't matter which device your recipient uses. You no longer have to remember who has a Nook and who has a Kindle. It works for either device, how amazing is that. The cost the ebook isn't any different than the site you would normally buy your ebooks from.
I was asked if I wanted to test it out and give it a try. So I had my husband pick out a book, he picked 'Odd Thomas' by Dean Koontz. When it arrived the only instruction I gave him was the web address he had to go through and that was it (it was a pre-launch link, not the one on the back of the gift card). He went online followed the instructions on the back of the card and within a few minutes had the book loaded on his Nook. I like this a lot!
He also made a great discovery, when he went to Barnes & Noble to 'Accept Gift.' He noticed if he didn't want the book he was redeeming he could exchange it for a Barnes & Noble gift card so he could pick out something else. I'm assuming, (maybe I shouldn't), that Amazon will give that choice too. It's a nice option to have, just in case your gift recipient isn't interested in the book you gave them.
To redeem your Livrada gift card just follow three simple steps:
1. Go to Livrada.com.
2. Enter the pin on the back of gift card and select your ereader platform (Kindle or Nook).
3. It will direct you to Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Log in, click accept gift to download the ebook to your device.
That's it, super easy to use. Now while your out at Target you can pick up an ebook for someone or yourself!
