HP Ink Challenge Weeks 2 and 3

If you read week one you know I received tons of supplies to do all the challenges. I promise I'm not slacking here, week 2 and week 3 assignments were sent at the same time. The challenge is HP Ink vs. Refill Ink.

You may not see the same results I do since the photos have been scanned and resized to be upload.

Week 2 test: Print out a few pictures on both printers and see if there any differences in color. I'm posting just one. But the results were the same for all three pictures.

I actually have this photo on my desktop. It was a nice, sunny, clear day in Seattle and we were taking the car ferry. Boats were everywhere that day! The picture on my desktop doesn't look anything like the two pictures above. I'm not happy with either one. Both look grainy and the colors are horrible in both.

Week 3 First Test: Splash test- sprinkle or dribble some water on the photos. Wait 60 seconds then attempt to dry each photo with a paper towel. What were the results?

The results are pretty much the same for both inks. There are some spots on both from the water being wiped off. Both inks performed the same to me on this test.

Week 3 Second Test: Dunk Test - Fill a bowl with water and dunk a few photos then let photos dry complertely. What were the results?

I was asked to check for "curling" on the photos. There wasn't any curling difference between the dry photos and the ones that had been dunked. There is a little damage to the refill's top left corner, but I'm not sure if that is an ink or paper issue.

During week one's challenge the was a big difference between the HP ink and the refill ink. This week the results seem to be the same for both inks. We'll have to see how the rest of the challenges turn out.
