Iron Man 3 Advanced Screening - Posted April 30, 2013

Rating: PG-13

U.S. Release date: May 3, 2013

Running time: 129 min.

I've been waiting for this movie and it didn't disappoint! If you liked the Iron Man and Iron Man 2 you'll like this one. It all starts with an explosion. It's just as action packed as the others and of course the Tony Starks character is just as funny, especially when he's in scenes with a young boy. This young boy helps him get back to Iron Man again. Wait until you see what happens to Pepper! Iron Man 3 is definitely worth the ticket price. It is rated PG-13 because of violence but it is a super hero movie, so use your own discretion when taking younger children.

·       Joel Murray (TV’s “Mad Men,” “Two and a Half Men”) voices Don Carlton, a “mature” student at Monsters University and a founding member of the Oozma Kappa (OK) fraternity.

Captain America Press Release - Posted 4/8/13

MARVEL STUDIOS BEGINS PRODUCTION ON 2nd INSTALLMENT OF THE

ICONIC FRANCHISE “CAPTAIN AMERICA”

Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” Commences Principal Photography

In Preparation for April 4, 2014 Film Release

BURBANK, Calif. (April 8, 2013) – Following in the footsteps of the record-breaking Marvel Studios’ release, “Marvel’s The Avengers,” production on the highly anticipated release, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” has commenced in Los Angeles, Calif., with production also including locations in Cleveland, Ohio, and Washington D.C. Directing the film is the team of Anthony and Joe Russo (“Welcome to Collinwood”) from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus (“Captain America: The First Avenger”) & Stephen McFeely (“Captain America: The First Avenger”). Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” returns Chris Evans (“Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel’s The Avengers”) as the iconic Super Hero character Steve Rogers/Captain America, along with Scarlett Johansson (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” “Iron Man 2”) as Black Widow and Samuel L. Jackson (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” “Iron Man 2”) as Nick Fury. In addition, film icon Robert Redford has joined the all-star cast as Agent Alexander Pierce, a senior leader within the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release in the U.S. on April 4, 2014.

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will pick-up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” features an outstanding supporting cast that includes Sebastian Stan (“Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Black Swan”) as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie (“The Hurt Locker,” “Million Dollar Baby”) as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Cobie Smulders (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” “How I Met Your Mother”) as Agent Maria Hill, Frank Grillo (“Zero Dark Thirty”) as Brock Rumlow and Georges St-Pierre (“Death Warrior”) as Georges Batroc. Rounding out the talented cast are Hayley Atwell (“Captain America: The First Avenger”) as Peggy Carter, Toby Jones (“Captain America: The First Avenger,” “The Hunger Games”) as Arnim Zola, Emily VanCamp (“The Ring 2,” “Revenge”) as Agent 13 and Maximiliano Hernández (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” “Thor”) as Agent Jasper Sitwell.

Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch (“Elysium,” “District 9”), production designer Peter Wenham (“21 Jump Street,” “Fast Five”), editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. (“Star Wars: Episode 7,” “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”) and three time Oscar®-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky (“The Hunger Games,” “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”).

Marvel Studios’ upcoming release schedule includes “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013, and “Thor: The Dark World” on November 8, 2013. The studio most recently produced the critically acclaimed “Marvel’s The Avengers,” which set the all-time, domestic 3-day weekend box office record at $207.4 million. The film, which shattered both domestic and international box office records, is Disney’s highest-grossing global and domestic release of all time and marks the studio’s fifth film to gross more than $1 billion worldwide.

In the summer of 2011, Marvel successfully launched two new franchises with “Thor,” starring Chris Hemsworth, and “Captain America: The First Avenger,” starring Chris Evans. Both films opened #1 at the box office and have grossed over $800 million worldwide combined. In 2010 “Iron Man 2,” starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury took the #1 spot in its first weekend with a domestic box office gross of $128.1 million.

In the summer of 2008, Marvel produced the summer blockbuster movies “Iron Man” and “The Incredible Hulk.”  “Iron Man,” in which Robert Downey Jr. originally dons the Super Hero’s powerful armor and stars alongside co-stars Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges, Shaun Toub and Gwyneth Paltrow, was released May 2, 2008, and was an immediate box office success. Garnering the number one position for two weeks in a row, the film brought in over $100 million in its opening weekend.  On June 13, 2008, Marvel released “The Incredible Hulk,” marking its second number one opener of that summer.

Disney•Pixar’s “Finding Dory” to Dive into Theaters

November 25, 2015

Ellen DeGeneres, the Voice of the Beloved Blue Tang Fish in 2003’s “Finding Nemo,” Shares Plans for the All-New Big-Screen Adventure

BURBANK, Calif. (April 2, 2013) – When Dory said “just keep swimming” in 2003’s Oscar®-winning film “Finding Nemo,” she could not have imagined what was in store for her (not that she could remember). Ellen DeGeneres, voice of the friendly-but-forgetful blue tang fish, revealed details today about Disney•Pixar’s “Finding Dory”—an all-new big-screen adventure diving into theaters on Nov. 25, 2015.

“I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time,”; said DeGeneres. “I’m not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating ‘Toy Story 16.’ But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It’s got a lot of heart, it’s really funny, and the best part is—it’s got a lot more Dory.”;

Director and Pixar veteran Andrew Stanton takes audiences back to the extraordinary underwater world created in the original film. “There is no Dory without Ellen,” said Stanton. “She won the hearts of moviegoers all over the world—not to mention our team here at Pixar. One thing we couldn’t stop thinking about was why she was all alone in the ocean on the day she met Marlin. In ‘Finding Dory,’ she will be reunited with her loved ones, learning a few things about the meaning of family along the way.”;

According to Stanton, “Finding Dory” takes place about a year after the first film, and features returning favorites Marlin, Nemo and the Tank Gang, among others. Set in part along the California coastline, the story also welcomes a host of new characters, including a few who will prove to be a very important part of Dory’s life.

“Finding Nemo” won the 2003 Academy Award® for Best Animated Feature; the film was nominated for three additional Oscars® (Best Writing, Original Screenplay; Best Music, Original Score; Best Sound Editing). It was also nominated for a Golden Globe® Award for Best Motion Picture–Comedy or Musical. In 2008, the American Film Institute named “Finding Nemo” among the top 10 greatest animated films ever made. At the time of its release, “Finding Nemo” was the highest grossing G-rated movie of all time. It’s currently the fourth highest grossing animated film worldwide. The film has more than 16 million Likes on Facebook, and Dory—with more than 24 million—is the most Liked individual character from a Disney or Disney•Pixar film.

DeGeneres’ distinctive comic voice has resonated with audiences from her first stand-up comedy appearances through her work today on television, in film and in the literary world. Her syndicated talk show, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” is in its 10th season and has earned 38 Daytime Emmy® Awards. DeGeneres has won 12 People’s Choice Awards and the Teen Choice Award for Choice Comedian for three consecutive years. Additionally, her show won two Genesis Awards and a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Talk Show Episode. For her unforgettable turn as Dory, DeGeneres was nominated for an MTV Movie Award for Best Comedic Performance.

I'ye been waiting for months, and last night I finally went to the advanced screening of "Oz The Great And Powerful." I loved this movie! You'll see the yellow brick road, flying monkeys and even a reference to Dorothy's dress from the original Wizard of Oz. The movie is about how Oz came to the Emerald City and fulfilled the prophecy of a wizards arrival. A wizard he is not, but he is clever enough to make everyone believe that he is. Including the 2 wicked witches he must conquer to save the Land of Oz. This is a great story for the whole family. It is rated PG because of some content, but nothing that is obscene or too violent. I want to see it again!

"Lincoln" Advanced Screening - Posted 11/4/12

Opening Date: Friday, November 16th         ~          Rating:  PG-13             ~             Running Time: 149 Minutes

We went to an advanced screening of "Lincoln" the other night. All I can say, it was amazing! The film takes place during the last few months of Lincoln's life when he is trying to end the war, unite the country and abolish slavery. This is a movie you have to pay attention to every word said because the conversations move quickly. You get to see Lincoln's relationships with his wife and kids, plus the inner workings of the US government at the time. You get to watch as the Republican party work to abolish slavery and the Democrats argue against it - and I mean really argue, it isn't pretty. It shows how he managed to get the 20 something votes needed for it to be abolished. (I didn't know, or maybe I forgot that it was actually the Republicans who were against slavery.) He also deals with the loss of a child that he hasn't truly dealt with and his wife's mental illness. The man had his hands full.

It turns out Lincoln had a pretty good sense of humor and loved to tell stories. Lets not forget to mention Daniel Day Lewis' eerily resemblance to Lincoln. You forget who your watching on screen.

This isn't a film for smaller kids, there is language and the movie does take place during the Civil War. It can get pretty gory at times. The movie is just over 2 hours long but it moves quickly, every minute of it is interesting.

WRECK-IT RALPH Advanced Screening  -  Posted 11/2/12

Smashes into theaters on November 2nd      ~     Rating - PG  ~     Run Time 93 Minutes     ~     John C. Reilly,  Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch, Sarah Silverman

My husband and I went to see "Wreck It Ralph" the other night, he was excited to see it and has not been waiting patiently. The movie is rated PG and like a lot movies coming out now is in 3-D. Even though it's rated PG, it's still okay for smaller kids..... and husbands.

Of course the movie has all the games in it, but the real story is what happens when the arcade closes for the night. How all the characters travel through the cords to a central hub where they can game hop (which they aren't suppose to do) and mingle with each other.

Ralph feels unappreciated in his game because he's a bad guy who lives in the dump. The other game characters get together and have a 30th anniversary game party and don't invite Ralph. That's when Ralph leaves and ends up in Hero's Duty. He starts on his quest thinking a gold metal win will make his game characters appreciate him. Except it's not as easy a Ralph thought. From there he ends up in the game Sugar Rush, a cute go-cart game where he meets cute little Vanellope von Schweetz. Ralph ends up trying to save her and her game.

One thing I really liked about this movie, you don't have to know anything about any of the games in it to enjoy it. I'm not a video game person. Knowledge of video games isn't required to be able to follow the story.

Frankenweenie Advanced Screening - Posted 10/3/12

Genre: Animated comedy  ~   Rating: PG    ~     U.S. Release date: October 5, 2012    ~    Run Time: 88 Minutes

Voice Cast: Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan, Atticus Shaffer, Robert Capron, Conchata Ferrell and Winona Ryder

Tim Burton scores big with this 3-D, black-and-white, stop-motion animation movie. The story is about Victor who suddenly loses his beloved dog Sparky. Victor decides to try and bring him back to life. He tries to keep the revived Sparky a secret but school mates find out. The school mates decide to try and resurrect their own pets for the Science Fair. That is when the chaos breaks out.

Adult will notice similarities between characters in Frankenweenie to those in a Frankenstein movie. The reason for that is because that's Victor's last name in the movie. Yes, you will be watching Dr. Frankenstein's childhood and his first attempt to bring something to life.

It's a great story, my husband and I really like it. Keep in mind this move is not really for little, little kids. There are parts of it that may really scare them.

Finding Nemo 3D Advanced Screening - Posted 9/11/12

Opening Date:  Friday, September 14th     ~      Rating:  G

We went to see an advanced screening of Finding Nemo 3D last weekend. Writing about this one is going to be easy since everyone has probably already seen the original version. After all, who doesn't love Nemo? The story is obviously the same one, with the anxiety plagued father Marlin on his quest with Dory to find Nemo. Kids are going to love the 3D version of this. Watching it this time in theaters is a different experience. The 3D effects are subtle through out the movie, the big difference is how crisp and clear the movie is. The 3D effect is more noticeable when the water currents are moving quickly. You know, Marlin and Dory's crazy ride in the current with the turtles to Australia. You'll definitely notice the 3D there.

It's much better than watching Finding Nemo on a DVD in the living room. In the theater in 3D was much better, it's worth seeing again.

Went to an Advanced Screening of "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" Posted 8/14/12

 Genre: Drama-Comedy~~~~~~~~~~Rating: PG~~~~~~~~~U.S. Release date: August 15, 2012~~~~~~~~Running time: 100 mins.

This is a cute movie. Its about a couple, Cindy and Jim Green, are coming to terms with not being able to have their own children. They write down every quality they want in a child, place the pieces of paper in a box, bury it in the back yard and decide to move on with their lives. That same night their notes come to life when Timothy rises from the garden. Timothy is only to be in their lives briefly (though the Green's don't know this). He helps them realize what they are capable of as people and parents.

The movie is funny at times and sad at times, you may even find yourself shedding a tear or two. It has a PG rating but is  definitely appropriate for kids of all ages.

That's all I'm going to tell you. If I say anymore it would ruin the movie for you!

Disney’s fantastical adventure “Oz The Great and Powerful,” directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

'Brave' Fun Facts Posted 7/3/12

Fans of Disney•Pixar’s feature films love to scour the screen in search of the Hidden Gems the filmmakers sneak into each film: WALL•E’s explorations uncover a Mike Wazowski antenna ball, paying homage to Monsters, Inc., and in Up, the classic Luxo Jr. ball can be seen in the girl’s bedroom as Carl Fredricksen’s house flies by her window. Disney•Pixar’s epic action adventure Brave features a few such gems, two of which are revealed here:

ANCIENT DELIVERY – The Witch, an eccentric crone disguised as a woodcarver specializing in whittling wooden bear figurines and conjuring haphazard spells, showcases her mysterious and inexplicable knowledge of the future with a carved figurine of the infamous Pizza Planet truck, an iconic delivery vehicle that’s appeared in nearly every full-length feature film from Pixar Animation Studios since 1995’s Toy Story.

NO MONSTERS IN THE CLOSET – A carving of Sulley, the lovable blue monster slated to return to the big screen in 2013’s Monsters University, appears on a piece of wood in the home of the Witch,

I went to an advanced screening of 'People Like Us'' Posted 6/28/12

                                      Genre: Comedy-Drama          ~           Rating: PG-13         ~         U.S. Release date: June 29, 2012

I saw a screening of 'People Like Us' the other night. The story is about a man who dies and leaves instructions for his son to deliver $150,000.00 cash to a woman he (the son) never heard of. Eventually, he figures out the woman he's to give the money to is a sister he never knew he had.

It's not a typical Disney movie, the characters have a lot of issues. Both kids, now adults feel abandoned by their father. The son (Sam) has problems at his job that he is going to probably get fired and has relationship problems with his mother and girlfriend. The daughter (Frankie) is a struggling single parent and recovering alcoholic and has an 11 year old son who is quite good at finding trouble, serious trouble.

Sam becomes friends with his sister Frankie, but doesn't tell her they are brother and sister. She finds that out in a very awkward moment. It does cross his mind to keep the money, it's a struggle for him because he has huge debt. Sam is forced to reevaluate everything he thought he new about his father and his relationships with others in his life. Through the movie you will find out how the father had 2 children and if everyone come to terms with finding each other and whether or not Sam does the right thing by giving his newly found sister the cash.

I liked this movie a lot, it's a great story. But, I don't think this movie would be appropriate for younger children. There are a few adult situations in it; the daughter struggling with alcoholism, marijuana smoking, cheating husband.

By the way: This movie is inspired by true events.

Will O' The Wisps Posted 6/26/12

'Brave'

 THE LORE

WILL O’ THE WISPS

Travelers—particularly those who venture out after sunset on unfamiliar pathways—beware of the will o’ the wisps.

It is said—though by whom is a bit of a mystery—that on certain days for certain travelers in certain parts of the world, little lights dance on the horizon, whispering tempting invitations… pledging the answers to lifelong questions, the realization of dreams, a key to secret treasures—a change of fate.

Charmed and curious, unsuspecting travelers follow the floating lights, mesmerized by their whispers, their promises. Yet no matter how long or how fervently they follow, they never quite touch the beautiful beacons whose flickering lights eventually fade and disappear… leaving the inquisitors, the dreamers and the treasure seekers lost… and alone.

* * *

In “Brave,” Merida spies tiny blue lights after escaping into the forest in search of a change of fate. Forming a path that dares her to follow, the lights lead Merida to a mysterious location that holds the power to change her destiny—just not in the way she imagines.

“The will o’ the wisps are in a lot of Scottish folktales,” says “Brave” director Mark Andrews. “They were said to lead you to treasure or doom—to change your fate—but they’re an actual phenomenon of swamp and bog gas seeping up through the earth and interacting with the natural resources to create the blue flames. People would follow these lights thinking they were little fairies, and basically drown or get sucked down into the bogs.

“We made the wisps like actual little spirits,” Andrews continues. “They’re almost like Marley’s ghost in a way, because Marley’s ghost isn’t an evil spirit—even though he’s frightening, he’s trying to warn Ebenezer to change his ways. That’s what the wisps are doing. There’s a duality to them, because they’re either good or evil—they lead Merida into more and more trouble, but in the end, they’ve led her exactly where she needs to go.”

BRAVE (In Disney Digital 3D™) --------Disney•Pixar---------U.S. Release Date:  June 22, 2012

I was lucky enough to be invited to an advance screening of 'Brave' here in Seattle, and I can say with certainty that kids are going to love it. Especially girls. 'Brave' is the story of a Scottish Princess Merida, who would rather shoot her arrow and ride horses than find a husband. This has to be the first Disney movie where the female character doesn't think her happiness depends on finding a prince. I like that, it's a great message for girls. Merida also has a not so great teenage relationship with her mother the queen. So she sets out to change her mothers mind about marrying her off and it doesn't go quite the way she plans. From there she has to try to fix her relationship with her mother so she can save her. I'm not going to tell you anymore because that would give away the movie. No spoilers here! I know I said girls would love it, but so will boys. The movie will keep them interested too, especially Merida's three little brother's who are experts at creating chaos.

Fun fact about 'Brave':
Pixar spent nearly three years developing two unique software systems just for Merida's hair. One program coordinated the movement of 1,500 separate curls, the other created a seamless relationship between Merida’s hair and her movements.

Iron Man 3 Sneak Peek! Posted 6/4/12

In Preparation for May 3, 2013 Film Release

BURBANK, Calif. (June 4, 2012) – Following in the footsteps of the record-breaking Marvel Studios’ release “Marvel’s The Avengers,” production on the highly anticipated film “Iron Man 3,” directed by Shane Black, has commenced production in Wilmington, North Carolina. The production schedule will also include locations in Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina, Miami, Florida and China.

Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1963, “Iron Man 3” returns Robert Downey Jr. (“Iron Man,” “Marvel’s The Avengers”) as the iconic Super Hero character Tony Stark/Iron Man along with Gwyneth Paltrow (“Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2,”) as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle (“Iron Man 2”) as James “Rhodey” Rhodes and Jon Favreau (“Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2”) as Happy Hogan. Set for release in the U.S. on May 3, 2013, Marvel’s “Iron Man 3” marks the second feature to be fully owned, marketed and distributed by Disney, which acquired Marvel in 2009.

“Iron Man 3” continues the epic, big-screen adventures of the world’s favorite billionaire inventor/Super Hero, Tony Stark aka “Iron Man.”  Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film.  Executive producers on the project include Jon Favreau, Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Charles Newirth, Victoria Alonso, Stephen Broussard and Dan Mintz.

The creative production team on the film includes two-time Oscar®-winning director of photography John Toll, ASC (“Braveheart,” “Legends of the Fall”), production designer Bill Brzeski (“The Hangover,” “Due Date”), editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” “Captain America: The First Avenger”) and Peter S. Elliot (“Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer”), and costume designer Louise Frogley (“Quantum of Solace,” “Contagion”).

Marvel Studios most recently produced the critically acclaimed “Marvel’s The Avengers,” which set the all-time, domestic 3-day weekend box office record at $207.4 million. The film, which is currently in release, continues to shatter box office records and is The Walt Disney Studios’ highest-grossing global and domestic release of all time and marks the studios’ fifth film to gross more than $1 billion worldwide.

In the summer of 2011, Marvel successfully launched two new franchises with “Thor,” starring Chris Hemsworth, and “Captain America: The First Avenger,” starring Chris Evans. Both films opened #1 at the box office and have grossed over $800 million worldwide combined. In 2010 “Iron Man 2,” starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson and Mickey Rourke, took the #1 spot in its first weekend with a domestic box office gross of $128.1 million.

In the summer of 2008, Marvel produced the summer blockbuster movies “Iron Man” and “The Incredible Hulk.”  “Iron Man,” in which Robert Downey Jr. originally dons the Super Hero’s powerful armor and stars alongside co-stars Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges and Gwyneth Paltrow, was released May 2, 2008, and was an immediate box office success.  Garnering the number one position for two weeks in a row, the film brought in over $100 million in its opening weekend.  On June 13, 2008, Marvel released “The Incredible Hulk,” marking its second number one opener of that summer.

I went to Marvel's 'The Avengers' Advanced Screening!

I was invited to an advanced screening of Marvel's 'The Avengers' Monday night (April 30th). If you liked the 'Iron Man' movies you will enjoy this just as much if not more! We loved it, there wasn't a boring minute in the film. It's rated PG-13 and rightfully so, with the sci-fi action while they fight evil. If your not watching an action scene, you will be laughing, there is a lot of adult humor. The movie is also in 3D! It wasn't over done though, it's subtle, used where it makes sense. You won't have things flying towards you during the whole movie. Everyone in the theater, regardless of their age enjoyed this movie. I would recommend seeing it, we thought it was great.

PG-13  and opens everywhere Friday May 4, 2012. The run time for the movie: 155 minutes....it takes time to save the world.

I went to the 'Chimpanzee' Advance Screening!

I was invited to an advanced screening of Disney's "Chimpanzee" Monday night. It's about a an orphaned chimpanzee who get's adopted. I'm not going to tell you which chimp adopts him - that would spoil the movie! The film also goes through what it takes for a group of chimpanzee's to survive in the forest. All I will say is, chimpanzees are amazing creatures.

There were tons of kids at the screening. I did notice that the smaller one's (about 4 or younger) didn't have that much interest in the movie.
Maybe because it's not a cartoon, it's a nature film. It did keep the interest of older kids.

I really like it, plus the orphaned chimp Oscar is adorable! It would be worth the price of a ticket. Plus, if you go see the film during the first week it opens, Disney is going to donate some proceeds to the Jane Goodall Institute. If you don't know who Jane Goodall is, she has dedicated her life
to studying and to help protect wild chimpanzees.

"Chimpanzee" swings into theaters Friday, April 20, 2012. The film is rated "G" and is only about an hour and fifteen minutes long. Narration by Tim Allen.

Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In “Brave,” a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts.

Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Witch (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.
